Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. The site has not had a formal accessibility audit, and we don’t claim that it fully meets the standard. This page says what has been checked and what we know still falls short.
What we’ve done
- On 9 October 2026 every page was checked at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, from 360 to 1920 pixels wide, in an automated Chromium browser with touch turned on, and the public pages were also checked in WebKit, the engine behind Safari, at phone and tablet sizes. No page scrolls sideways at any of those sizes.
- On touch screens, buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, and form fields use 16-pixel text so iPhones don’t zoom in when you tap them.
- The booking form was filled in and sent at every phone and tablet size. Its fields have labels, and your name, email and phone can be filled in by your browser. If a request can’t be sent, the message saying why is moved into view, receives keyboard focus and is announced to screen readers.
- The phone menu can be used with a keyboard: it closes with the Escape key or when you move to another page, keeps Tab inside the menu while you are in it, and its button is labelled “Close menu” while it is open.
- Photos that carry meaning have text descriptions.
Known limitations
- The checks above used automated browsers, not real phones or tablets, and no screen reader was tested.
- On small phones the day squares in the booking calendar are 38 pixels wide (44 tall), a little under the usual 44-pixel target.
- Some small capital-letter labels, such as “starting at”, are about 11 pixels tall.
- Gallery photos without a caption are described only as “Groomed pet.”
- Card payments happen on Stripe’s checkout page, which Stripe runs and we can’t change.
